Cam Newton Needs To Stop Arguing With High Schoolers

Fan: How many rings you got? We got the same amount.

Cam Newton: None but we don’t got the same bank account.

Nobody spends more time entertaining mouthy high-schoolers and their shit-talk than Cameron Newton. Does he realize that he doesn’t have to respond to every needledick 15-year-old that thinks it’ll be cool to troll him and livestream it for clout? He is Cam Newton, after all. Does he know he doesn’t have to take the bait? It seems as though the answer is: no, he does not.

Remember when he argued with this kid at his camp?

I’ll be the first to say, it’s pretty disrespectful to act that way at an event that Cam Newton is hosting, especially as a nobody. The ruse worked, these kids got their views, but it ended with the high-schooler issuing a Notes app apology on Twitter that made it all the way to ESPN. Cam didn’t not handle it well, about as well as you could if you make the conscious decision to engage, but nobody cares who this kid was and Cam kinda looked like a colossal dork in the process.

A high school football player has apologized to Cam Newton after an exchange between them went viral.

The player, Jseth Owens, asked for forgiveness as part of a written apology on Twitter: https://t.co/RucdmXEAEn

Old Cam Newton at Auburn was solely responsible for a national championship then went on to change the quarterback position forever with the Panthers. Prestigious talent and an absolute force in his prime – nobody can take that away from him.

Current, thin-skinned Cam Newton is still releasing hype videos for his next comeback and hanging out at high school 7-on-7 passing camps. This is where he hit “Kyle Santangelo” with the weirdest jerking off motion ever, an epic own coming from a 34-year-old. All because the kid asked him how many rings he had. Cam defaulted to his trademark “I’m rich” argument, his ace in the hole. While this is true, I guess, it’s still less funny than the kid saying they have the same amount of rings. Has he learned nothing from the previous viral encounter he had? If he didn’t respond to every Timmy and Jimmy that said something to him from the sidelines, maybe they’d stop doing it so much.
Also, how many times can Cam go viral before he realizes he just comes off as remarkably lame talking about how rich he is? We get it, man. Everyone knows you’re rich, that’s exactly why you don’t have to justify saying these things out loud in response to literal high school boys trying to use you for views! He just can’t help himself. It might be time to consider not responding to these kids if they’re gonna act like assholes, just a thought from a PR perspective.
