Oh, hell yes. It’s late February, spring practice hasn’t even started yet, and we’ve already got Kentucky football players fighting in the locker room. By the looks of it, it’s two offensive linemen so that’s even better. Big meaty men slappin’ meat, just havin’ a little locker room fracas. In these cases, it’s best to stand back and let ’em work it out. Hopefully they shook hands when it was all said and done and decided to be boys again.
For the record, I don’t have a problem with this video. If anything, maybe they could’ve broken it up a little sooner. I haven’t spent a great deal of time in college football locker rooms but when one teammate suplexes another into the concrete floor, that might be a good time to intervene. With that said, this kinda thing probably happens more than we realize.
There’s only one problem here: it’s being filmed. Big “oops” for the camerman in this scenario. Why are you recording that and giving it the “World Star” treatment when you know it’s gonna end up leaking online? Tough optics for the team now that the footage is all over the internet it puts Mark Stoops in a peculiar spot. He’ll have to address the team to find out why the fuck they were acting like two middle schoolers at the bus stop after school, then he’ll have to answer questions from the beat reporters about it. First-hand footage of teammates going bare knuckles after an off-season workout is maybe best kept in-house.
I miss when minor conflicts were handled internally and everything wasn’t immediately plastered to every possible social media platform. Stoops doesn’t even get the chance to make up a ridiculous lie because one of his other players decided to film it.
